Wine Festival Stories – Guided Tour through the Exhibition “HOCHHEIM:WEINFESTSELIG”
A guided tour through the exhibition HOCHHEIM:WEINFESTSELIG. City guide Achim Munck combines historical insights with personal memories and anecdotes about the Hochheim Wine Festival.
The Hochheim Wine Festival is one of the city’s most important traditions. The exhibition HOCHHEIM:WEINFESTSELIG explores its history, its rituals and the people who have shaped the festival over generations.
During this guided tour, key themes of the exhibition are explored: the historical beginnings of the festival, the election of the Wine Queen, the wine stands, the stage programme and the activities behind the scenes. Photographs, documents and memorabilia reveal how the festival has developed over time and recall moments that many people still remember today.
The tour is led by Hochheim city guide Achim Munck, who complements the exhibition with background information, personal memories and numerous anecdotes. For many years he was part of the festival himself – among other things as a conductor of the legendary “Wine Express”, a small train that once travelled across the festival grounds.
The exhibition HOCHHEIM:WEINFESTSELIG grew out of the digital platform SCHAUKASTEN:STADT and is part of the World Design Capital Frankfurt Rhein-Main programme.
