Hochheim is located in the middle of Frankfurt in the east and the western part of the Rheingau. All four attractive larger cities of the Rhine-Main-area, Frankfurt am Main, Wiesbaden, Mainz, and Darmstadt are situated around Hochheim and still you find yourself in the beautiful Kulturland Rheingau with all of the treasures of a wine and sparkling wine town.

Main-Taunus district

The Main-Taunus district is located in the heart of the Rhine-Main region and consists of 12 diverse towns and communities. Traditional spas, medieval castles, fruit plantations, shopping entertainment, enjoying nature, wine cultivation, and much more can be easily accessed in short distances in the Main-Taunus district.

Region Frankfurt RheinMain

Frankfurt RheinMain is a vibrant region where the most diverse locations can be experienced. Top-class events, UNESCO world heritage sites, little and great museums, and health spas leave hardly any desires unfulfilled.

It provides attractive reductions in more than 40 free time and cultural institutions and you can easily travel for a small price in the entire tariff area of the Rhein-Main public transportation system. In addition, it can be used at the museums in Hochheim.

 

Frankfurt

Frankfurt - Europe’s top financial hot spot, maybe even world-wide. Kleinmarkthalle, Eiserner Steg, Museumsufer, Main Tower, just to name a few of Frankfurt’s highlights. Wiesbaden

The Hessian capital impresses with historical architecture of a unique kind. 26 hot springs founded Wiesbaden’s reputation as a spa. The Neroberg Mountain Railway, Germany’s only cable railway running with ballast water, connects the Nerotal with the famous Neroberg. The spacious spa gardens invite the visitors for pleasant walks or splendid relaxation.

Wiesbaden city center can be reached from Hochheim S-train station by train S1 in about 20 minutes or by bus numbers 46, 48, and 48S of the ESWE in about 30 minutes.

Mainz

Many people in Hochheim feel well-connected to Mainz, probably thanks to its cheerful lifestyle.

However, this affinity might also root back to the historical fact that Hochheim once belonged to the Bishopric of Mainz.

Roman temples, noble palaces, the cathedral, and Marc Chagall’s blue windows await the visitor in the capital of Rhineland-Palatinate.

Mainz city center can be reached by bus number 68 of the MVG in about 20 minutes from Hochheim.

Kulturland Rheingau

The Rheingau stretches from Flörsheim-Wicker and Hochheim am Main in the East to Lorch at the Rhine river and is divided into the upper, middle, and lower Rheingau. All communities have dedicated themselves to wine-making. As a Riesling region the Rheingau enjoys a world-wide outstanding reputation. Castles, palaces, Rheingau Music Festival, the cable car to the Niederwalddenkmal,  Rheingauer Schlemmerwochen (Rheingau Culinary Weeks), green landscapes….The Rheingau provides countless chances for discovery.

Regionalpark RheinMain

The nearly 500 km of Regional Park routes connect about 18 attractive destinations for trips in this multifaceted region. These can easily be discovered on well-signposted paths either on foot or by bike.

Scenic outposts, artistic works, informative paths, climbing wall, play park - the Regional Park provides access to the region for any age and target group.
